映画、The Ides of March (2011)がアツい。面白くなかったらウソだろ、のレベルだ。最近は役者よりも監督に精を出してるGeorge Clooney、目立った監督作品を並べてみる。

これも良い。映画好きなんだろうね、そのうえ才能もある。うらやましい。日本での公開時期などは今のところ判らないが、まあ、期待してよいと思う。下は公式サイトとトレーラー。
題名の"The Ides of March"って何ってなもんで、日本公開の折にはダサい邦題が付くだろう。"ides"は月の真ん中の日のことで、"the ides of march"と言えば、ジュリアス・シーザーが殺された、あの3月15日のことを指す。なるほどね、そういう映画ね、と判る人には判る訳だ。こういう文学的、歴史的背景を学ぶ度に思うね。英語は簡単だけど、その裏側込みだと難しいって。
